Category: Initiative Module >Group: To be Fixed for 5.14 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Paul W. King (kingpaul) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: GMGen initiative bugs Initial Comment: I received this email from an ENWorld user. === We played again yesterday, and I used GMGen to track initiative. And I was having many of the same issues with the program. Here's problems I was having: 1. At some points I was able to change a Pc initiative score, and at some points I was not. I suspect that it has something to do with the initiative count we happen to be on at the time, but I am not sure about that. 2. At one point I added a new combatant to a battle -- a late PC had arrived. When I added the PC's inforation and hit return the system rerolled ALL initiatives, screwing up the order for an entire battle. 3. In one instance, the PCs were having a battle in which I was trying to use the "status" field, change initiatives as necessary, and use the "kill" functionality to remove opponents that had been killed from the display. I had a few PC that had been feebleminded -- whe n I tried to remove the "feeblemind" status from one PC I wasn't able to, and every time I tried it retained that status AND brought the naga that had just died back from being killed. That was VERY frustrating -- I was forced to go ahead and delete the nagas, rather than mark them killed -- which meant I couldn't use the experience feature, at least not as it's designed. And, to try to avoid problems I closed and reloaded PCGen and GMGen between battles. === Paul W. (2) is a user error, based on adding a combatant, then the focus for "return" shifts to the "Start Battle" button. Solution: Don't hit return! (This could use a confirmation if not a lot of stuff is dead, perhaps, but that's a FREQ if a TM wants to do that) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tom Parker (thpr) Date: 2007-05-07 00:32 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1037926 Originator: NO Can't reproduce 1 and 2.
