Category: Export Character Group: To be fixed For 5.12 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 7 Private: No Submitted By: LegacyKing (amaitland) Assigned to: Alec Ross (haelduksf) Summary: OUTPUTNAME in Skills and Deity has different behavior Initial Comment: Okay, this is an old bug I've dealt with in the past (Bad tracker monkey [slaps wrists of own hand] forgot to submit a report) For Both Deity and Skills - Using OUTPUTNAME will display the OUTPUTNAME selected in the GUI, but on output will show the ACTUAL name, instead of the desired outputname. I HAVE NOT TESTED/CONFIRMED THIS in the 5.11.5 or higher branches. EXAMPLES: Pantheon FOO - DEITY NAME OUTPUTNAME:Deity Name Displays Deity Name in Preview Outputs: Pantheon FOO - DEITY NAME Skill 18 OUTPUTNAME: Skill Foo Displays: Skill Foo Outputs: Skill 18 -Andrew Maitland ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Alec Ross (haelduksf) Date: 2007-05-05 14:50 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1771850 Originator: NO I can reproduce this bug with the latest builds with regards to the skill OUTPUTNAME, but not the deity's. Can anyone else reproduce this behaviour as it relates to deities? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Martijn Verburg (karianna) Date: 2007-05-02 10:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=252169 Originator: NO Raising P as per Chuck's request ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: LegacyKing (amaitland) Date: 2007-04-23 18:03 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1286039 Originator: YES Additional found in fourms: Re: OUTPUTNAME issues > - how can I use the OUTPUTNAME of the skills in the export function ? A little detail : In the /output/base.xml, I found this line in the skills section :
How should I change it to use the Outputname of the skill instead of the actual name of the skill ? The Feats section has this line :
and it display the outputname instead of the actual name just fine... Any ideas ? > In the /output/base.xml, I found this line in the skills section : > > > >
> > > > How should I change it to use the Outputname of the skill instead of > > the actual name of the skill ?
> > and it display the outputname instead of the actual name just fine... > > > > Any ideas ? I personally feel the |BLAH.%blah| should display OUTPUTNAME whenever possible. I don't think it was extended to all objects. (Technically, I'd call it a Code Bug since it was supposed to be done in the first place, but some might think of it as a Code FReq) Added by Chuck: OUTPUTNAME overrides the object name in OS files as a global. All OS tokens should use OUTPUTNAME rather than the original name. OUTPUTNAME is neither functional or needed with the OS tokens, any "name" is from the lst file definition. Changing the xslt files will have no effect. All the name translation takes place in base.xml. It sounds like SKILL OS token is outputting in error. Or OUTPUTNAME is not working in the lst skill file. One of the two. Something is wrong in the code in any case. This should be trackered as a bug. AND: I don't want to speak for the code, but I'd say it was highly likely. I've tagged this for a Tracker Monkey, it sounds like two things need to happen: 1) Add this to the existing tracker (when found). 2) Raise the priority of that tracker, this is a fairly serious bug.
