Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Paul W. King (kingpaul) >Assigned to: Eddy Anthony (eddyanthony) Summary: LSTEXCLUDE not working Initial Comment: Per http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCGenListFileHelp/messa ge/6980 Next hurdle: PHB races gone? PHB deities gone? PHB classes (Bard, Range, Paladin) gone? Nope. Nope. AND Nope. Hmm. LSTEXCLUDES right? Paths good? Ayep. Hmm. .FORGET commands good to go? Ayep. Huh. All right, I'll try a few .FORGET commands for the races. Nope. NO go. And that was/is true for both 5.6.1 AND 5.7.5 So here's my final outcome: LSTEXCLUDE tags do not appear to work with CMP .pcc files and .lst files. Specifically - LSTEXECLUDE:@\CMP\wizards_of_the_coast\rules_syste m_v30e\campaign_settings\core\ players_handbook\playershb_deities.lst LSTEXECLUDE:@\CMP\wizards_of_the_coast\rules_syste m_v30e\campaign_settings\core\ players_handbook\playershb_languages.lst LSTEXECLUDE:@\CMP\wizards_of_the_coast\rules_syste m_v30e\campaign_settings\core\ players_handbook\playershb_races.lst PCC:@\CMP\wizards_of_the_coast\rules_system_v30e\c ampaign_settings\core\players_handbook\playershb.pcc doesn't work. .FORGET tags do not apparently work with Races. I've uploaded the gameMode files, the .pcc file, and the .lst file in case any LST monkeys care. I, myself, have given up on trying to pare *anything* down to my campaign, and am just going on a wild and crazy cut-n- paste-just-what-I-need spree. I figure I'll be done soemtime Monday night. So I can start *adding* my custom stuff. And *that's* when the real fun begins. === Paul W. I looked at Darwin Rules Tir sited, the file references are out of date and there is no PCC: so the LSTEXCLUDE is not acctually needed on this set, it simply imports specific core files as needed. However it can be used to test this issue. I updated the file names so they are current and added a PCC: call to load the complete SRD. I then loaded only Darwin and found that indeed the contents of the excluded files were not blocked. Valid Code Bug. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Eddy Anthony (eddyanthony) Date: 2005-08-31 01:25 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=886893 Might the problem be load order? The doc enttry says this tag must come before any .pcc calls are made to load whole sets, might this also be relevant if you load the set separately? Say you load the core set, it is RANK:1 and you load a campaign set RANK:2 which contains a LSTEXECLUDE referencing the core set, might not work because those files are already loaded when the campaign set loads. If this is the problem one solution may be to have the campaign set load the needed core files after the LSTEXECLUDE tags. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Martijn Verburg (karianna) Date: 2005-08-31 01:09 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=252169 Hi Tir, I beleive this is a data problem, the srd is made up of lst files that start with "srd", and the darwin world exclusion list files start with "phb", e.g. They'll only exclude the cmp PHB datafiles. Thoughts? K ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Andrew McDougall (tir-gwaith) Date: 2005-08-27 02:11 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=208239 He's just referring to files he uses. The calls there are his own. The Darwin Rules LSTEXCLUDEs also don't work. To test: 1) in 3.0 mode, load "3.0 SRD Basics" and "RPGObjects - Darwin's World - Complete World Rules" 2) Create new character 3) Note that PHB races and classes are choices. They shouldn't be from these lines in worldrules.pcc: LSTEXCLUDE:phbclasses.lst . . . LSTEXCLUDE:phbraces.lst Valid bug. :( ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Martijn Verburg (karianna) Date: 2005-08-27 01:18 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=252169 Hi Tir, user is talking about CMP files.... I assume our files work correctly (for example Darwin World's world.pcc file)? - K ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=384719&aid=1034508&group_id=25576 |
