PatchAnim, a tool for generating animated blends based on bezier surface patches, has released version 1.3.0.
Version 1.3.0 adds the ability to control how one patch tweens into another patch. Algorithms include: Linear, Accelerating, Decelerating, Ease In/Ease Out, Accelerate In/Accelerate Out and Wave.
PatchAnim uses three bezier patches to represent color input for red, green and blue sources of a animated bitmap. In addition, a patch is optionally available to control transparency. Animations can be exported as Animated Gifs, Pngs and Mngs; and can also be exported as a series of Gifs, Pngs and Jpegs.
Two to ninth order patches can be selected, and a variety of patch transformation tools are available to ease the creating of pleasing visual effects. Patches can be reordered, cloned; and then settings are available to specify the number of tweened images, the way animation repeats, and the way colors that fall outside the 0 - 255 range of values are handled.
PatchAnim file i/o is done using xml files.
