I have found that it is nearly always possible to avoid checking that the username field has focus, by careful use of tab and enter keys in the autotype string. That lets me log in to nearly every website by using the following sequence:

  1. click on "Browse to URL"
  2. Alt-Tab tab back to PWSafe
  3. click "Perform AutoType"

I would be great if PWSafe stayed as the top window after clicking "Browse to URL". That would eliminate step 2 in my sequence.

I know that there is a setting to keep PWSafe always on top, but that means I need y a mouse click instead of Alt-Tab, to put the browser back on top.

    Hello Harman,

I'm not following why you need step 2.

If you use the 'Always keep Password Safe on top' setting, you shouldn't need step 2 since Password Safe should stay on top even after the browser opens, so you should be able to simply click on the Autotype button if you have it on the toolbar and have the toolbar visible. This is how I use Password Safe, but with one additional setting, which is minimize after Autotype, which automatically causes Password Safe to minimize after sending the Autotype.

Thanks MrMe, I had overlooked "Minimize after Autotype". Without it, PWSafe annoyingly stayed on top after logging in. All good now!
