This allows checking password quality/strength using a more realistic approach. It provides a simple 0,1,2,3, or 4 score (or 0 to 100% in 25% steps) and additional information for how long it might take to crack the password depending on processing resources available.
My thought and suggestion is that it would be useful to incorporate the code and dictionary for this, presuming it's freeware, into Password Safe and provide a button on the Edit Entry screen that the user could use to view this information for the password.
I believe this algorithm is designed mainly for English passwords, so only if English is being used would the password quality button be presented.
This is a duplicate of your FR 787 created 18 months ago. I don't think our view has changed.
Have you seen: https://xkcd.com/936/ ?
Okay, I had forgotten about FR787.
Yes, I've seen that website.
Maybe then the diceware password generation method is the better feature to incorporate in the future.
zxcvnb is nice, but has a large overhead in the form of the dictionary it uses.
A simple entropy-based strength meter will be added in 3.69.
