On the security tab in the options menu (v3.21), there is a timeout setting to LOCK the database after (config) minutes idle.

Adding a second option to CLOSE/EXIT the software after (config) minutes idle would prevent networked users from "hogging" a shared password database in R/W mode.

My wife got quite annoyed that I had to interrupt her in the middle of her game to close the PW DB so I could update from another PC in the house.

Thanks for the consideration, and great job on the software!

My apologies to your wife :-)

Seriously, the latest version (3.26) makes it much easier to change between read-only and read-write modes. Perhaps you should open the database in read-only by default (see online help for details). I think this would solve the problem.

I strongly support the CLOSE/EXIT feature -- switching to "read only" is not sufficient because multiple users frequently need to add/update passwords in a shared database. It would be much better to have the program completely close the database and exit after a timeout period.
