Bug 1398 (https://sourceforge.net/p/passwordsafe/bugs/1398/) was supposedly fixed, but I am finding that, when I open a database with 3.52, the resulting window is never fully expanded (maximized), if the window in which the database had last been open had been maximized.

Are you using a single or multiple monitors?

I am just using a single monitor. I am on a Window 10 laptop, just using the laptop screen with no attached monitor.

Odd. I can't reproduce this problem. Here's what I'm doing:
    1. Open PasswordSafe
    2. Maximize the window
    3. Exit PasswordSafe (File->Exit)
    4. Open PasswordSafe again - window is maximized.

What Display and System settings (under Manage->Options...) are you using?

I think that I did not describe my situation very well. Sorry.

Here is the behavior I am seeing.

    1. I start the application. A dialog box opens for me to specify a database.
    2. I open a database. The resulting window is not maximized.
    3. I maximize the window.
    4. I exit the application.
    5. I restart the application.
    6. I reopen the same database. This window is not maximized despite #3 above.

My recollection is that, with older versions of the application, the window-maximized status was remembered (perhaps with the database).

I have the following Display options checked: Show Notes in Edit; Word Wrap Notes in Add & Edit; Highlight changed entries; Warn 1 day before passwords expire; and Initial Tree View is Fully collapsed.

I have the following System options checked: Put icon in System Tray; Remember last 0 entries used in System Tray menu; Start PasswordSafe at Login; Remember last 2 databases; Recent Databases on File Menu rather than as a sub-menu; Open database read-only by default; and Allow multiple instances.

    Thanks.
In step 6 above, what's the size of the PasswordSafe window? I'm seeing that it takes up the whole screen, but just not "maximized". That is, the same dimensions as if it were maximized, but the icon next to the "x" in the title bar inidicates a "regular" window, not a maximized one.
    Is that what you're seeing?

Yes, that's right. I should have mentioned that "looks maximized but isn't" detail.

That seems new. I rolled back to 3.27 (I think that's right) earlier today as a test. While that version did not "remember" the maximization, it did not open to appear maximal but rather with some smaller dimensions.

I have been able to reproduce the problem (or identify another cause of it) without exiting the application.

    Here is a recipe:
    1. Open application.
    2. Maximize window.
    3. Put computer in standby/hibernate (without closing or minimizing application).
    4. Wake computer from standby/hibernate.
    5. Application is now minimized and database locked (lock database on workstation lock set).
    6. Reopening application/database with passphrase results in window that is maximal but not properly maximized (as described above).

The application has other anomalies in this case, so the root cause in this situation may be different from the one described earlier.

In this case, the application seems to have forgotten/overridden the databases options (not just window size). For example, options such as "Browse-to-URL copies password" and "Show Notes in Edit" have been cleared improperly.

This may be related to bug 1483 (https://sourceforge.net/p/passwordsafe/bugs/1483/).

I am running 3.54, and I still experience this sometimes (e.g., when opening a database after a reboot).

When I open a database after reboot, it takes the full screen but it is not "maximized" (as noted in the update above from 2020-07-11).
