Clear clipboard on Samsung Galaxy Tab

Samsung Galaxy Tab seems to remember items on the clipboard indefinitely. Also, any new entry is added to the clipboard but older items are retained. The whole list is available on tapping the clipboard icon on the onscreen keypad.
I was shocked to see some very confidential passwords on the clipboard. Passwords I had copied from PasswdSafe more than a month ago were still on the clipboard in plain text. Is there a way to make these clipboard entries time out? If not, can they be replaced with an empty string after a while?

I can not find a programmatic way to clear the passwords. The app has an option to clear the clipboard but all it can do is to copy an empty string to it. Android does not provide a clear function. The clipboard history is a Samsung add-on feature.
There may be a manual way to clear the history or remove a particular entry. Try long-pressing on an entry or look for a menu option to remove entries from the history.
