Version 6.22.2 on Android 13.

  1. Fresh install of PwSafe Sync and PwSafe
  2. In PwSafe Sync open Google Drive associated with synced account on phone
  3. Sync reports successfully finding something
  4. Open PwSafe
  5. Open hamburger menu and click on Google Drive icon to load a file
  6. Get "No Files" error, meaning no psafe3 files were found

    Note that this same error happened before the fresh install. I did the reinstall to see if it would fix the problem.

    My feeling about when this issue started is roughly the same as the build date - 11/04/2022.

    An interesting diagnostic -

    I have two different Google accounts on this phone. Both have psafe3 files in their Drives. I tried this experiment:

    1. Uninstall PwSafe Sync
    2. Reinstall
    3. Use the non-default Google Drive account
    4. Get a permission dialog from Android
    5. psafe3 files are visible

    6. Uninstall PwSafe Sync

    7. Reinstall
    8. Use the DEFAULT Google Drive account
    9. NO permission dialog from Android
    10. psafe3 files are NOT visible

    Yes. Google Drive changed their permission scheme a bit ago. To use the permission that lets an app see all files, you have to go through a security review and pay for it. So, I switched to the method that lets you see only files the app creates. Thus the complicated procedure listed in the link above.
