PassGenWin 1.0.1.8 EXP01 (Experimental 01) is almost ready to be released as version 1.0.1.8.
Attached to this post are the Setup and Translation Template files.
The goals of this thread are:
How to translate: download the "translate_template.txt" file and edit it. When finished, post the new file in this thread.
Note that the file must remain as UTF-16LE. Also note that Dialog labels should preferably be kept as short as the English labels due to lack of space.

I'm not totally sure if I found the correct translations for "heap corruption" and "process heap" since I never encountered those terms, but I suspect they are related to some kind of processing and memory management. Therefore, I think I more or less got the meaning. But I guess a German speaking person educated in computer science should check that.
I tried to use the most logical letters as shortcuts in the menu in the functions that are probably most important. But in some cases I just needed to use more or less random letters because the best letters for the relevant option were taken already by probably more important options.
And an other issue is the question if you want it formal or informal. (I used informal, but If you want it formal I can change it or do an additional version. Most of the time the formal language in German is rather cumbersome and it needs more space.)
Since the language needed in the program is rather limited I expect my translation would work as "de-DE" and "de-CH" too. But since I am Austrian I just declared the translation as "de-AT".
Hopefully, despite the unfamilar technical terms my contribution is helpful.

This problem appears for all translations, so what matters most is that the chosen letters be distinct. After all, it's an optional feature that is nice to have but is not absolutely mandatory. Thanks for the extra effort.
Informal style is good, especially if the formal phrasing would take up more space. Unfortunately, some of your Dialog translation may not fit. The most obvious to me right now, without trying them, is "In Zwischenspeicher kopieren".
So it is the Dialog translations for buttons and text labels that are a problem (strings and error messages can be as long as necessary). I will give exact details tomorrow after I add your translation to the program.
This could be shortened by phrasing it differntly from the original: "zwischenspeichern" which would just say something similar to: "memorize temporarily".
Perhaps it could be rephrased simply as "copy" (same how Copy, Paste, Delete are translated in German).
In the end, the following labels do not fit, even after enlarging the dialogs:
I consider that it is acceptable to shorten the phrases, for example instead of "hide previous output" show only "hide previous" or "hide". This was done so for the Romanian translation as well.

Hello, I do not want to be tied to their identity, if it is impossible to site better then do not mention it.
Regarding the "heap". This term does not matter in Russian, as well as "a heap of memory." If we are talking about payati cell, then it is better to write a "memory cell".
The word "About" is highly dependent on the context. This may be the "About", "The Algorithm", and so on.

По поводу "heap". Данный термин не имеет значения на русском языке, также как и "куча памяти". Если речь идёт о ячейке паяти, тогда лучше написать "ячейка памяти".
Слово "About" сильно зависит от контекста. Это может быть "О программе", "Об алгоритме", и так далее.

By the way: Does your target group reliably have enough knowledge about the involved technical processes to even understand the concepts of "heap corruption" and "process heap"? I wouldn't expect normal users to understand such terms.
@mrkaban: if the above translation was yours, how do you wish to be credited in the "About..." dialog? We have used real names so far.
If you have corrections to make, please post an updated version of translate_russian.txt. Also, about the website you provided, it can be put in the file translators.txt but not directly in the program, sorry.

Those errors would not be the fault of the users, they would almost always be my fault due to an (embarrassing) programming mistake. As such, users should never get those errors, and if they do it's better than "Program crashed. Sorry." when they report them, in my opinion.
Of course, that makes sense. :)
We are categorically opposed to references to a person or a nickname. In this case, please do not submit the translation of the author.
And what meaning there will introduce the word "heap"? Just in the Russian language it matters exclusively related to agriculture.
About "About", we do not understand it is used in any context, so decided to write neutrally.
If you specify for these cases, then you can modify the translation.

As Andrei pointed out I didn't reply in any sense to what you have written. I was only concerned that common people (not very fit with computer science) wouldn't understand the technical error messages he created. This had no connection to any translation. But Andrei pointed out that these error messages are not ment for the users, but for him to solve possible issues. This settles the concern in my view. If you feel offended it could only be caused by an unfortunate misunderstanding.
On the other hand that invites the question why we do translate those error messages in the first place since Andrei will not profit from error messages in other languages ... but I guess it is cleaner to do a full localisation.
Indeed "full localization" was my thought; it would be awkward for the program to crash with an English error message once the user chose another language for the interface.
That said, I wish to repeat that if the non-technical users don't understand the memory-related error messages that is OK, because they couldn't do anything about them anyway. Except maybe buy more memory or run a virus scan (and let's be honest these solutions are from the 1990's).
What are the reasons why you do not want to be credited as a person for the translation?
If you want to be credited as an organization instead of a single person, please say what organization you are part of (a website address is not acceptable):
"Heap" in English, in case of computers, means a special part of memory (of RAM). Please translate it as "(computer) memory" if that is more appropriate.
"About" is the title of the message where the user can read about program author, build date, translation author. It would have the meaning of "Program Information" or "Version Information".

Please do not misunderstand that as an insult because it was not (also it was not directed at you or any nation). I and Onsemeliot discussed that non-technical users ("normal users") may not understand what "heap corruption" means because it's too technical and for programmers.
"Heap" in this case means "computer memory", roughly. Please also read my post above, because I need to know how to credit you as persons (or organization) for translating.
We are ordinary people who support website dedicated to topics of free software. Themselves trying to translate some programs, some programs we write ourselves, for the sake of development of the sphere.
In this case, the fix that is now About.

Experimental version 02 is ready for testing. I didn't add Russian translation yet because of the problem above: I don't know who to credit.

What worries me a bit is that version 1.0.1.8 currently triggers some antiviruses from VirusTotal. I don't know what can be done to fix this. (Unless my computer has been infected, these are false positives obviously.)
