Can you verify if removing one of the keybindings allows it to work?

That URL doesn't work. But regardless we discussed this via PM several months ago:

I was not able to trace where those keybindings came from. I tried bindings in gnome settings and system preferences keyboard bindings and compizconfig all from that stackoverflow post. I never could figure it out. I double checked again just now, I have no idea where they're coming from.

What keyboard layout are you using? Also, what Window manager are you using? If you haven't installed something else, it is Unity.
One thing you might try is to install Xfce4 - it ls lightweight (so not a lot of files to install), and you should be able to select it when you log in. Install Xfce4, log out, then there should be a session selector that selects the window manager you want to use. It will ask you the panel preference, and I usually choose the default. See if it works there.
In the mean time, I need to boot Ubuntu 16 somewhere.

You can always go back to Unity by logging out and selecting it, and logging back in.

I have version 1.2.1 installed on Linux Mint, and I have the same problem.
I'm trying to use the Actions to convert the copied text.
When I run Parcellite from the CLI, I get an error:

    Diego @ diego-Lenovo-Z50-75 ~ $ echo Something | parcellite
    Flag 0x0001, status 0, EXIT 1 STAT 0
    timedatectl set-local-rtc 1 --adjust-system-clockFlag 0x0001, status 0, EXIT 1 STAT 0

    ** (parcellite: 5864): WARNING **: Binding '<Ctrl> <Alt> P' failed!

    ** (parcellite: 5864): WARNING **: Binding '<Ctrl> <Alt> H' failed!

    ** (parcellite: 5864): WARNING **: Binding '<Ctrl> <Alt> X' failed!

    ** (parcellite: 5864): WARNING **: Binding '<Ctrl> <Alt> A' failed!

When running from CLI a new instance opens, and a new icon appears in the tray.
I tried to remove the shorcuts, but the same thing happens.
