I propose that 3-dimensions is the minimal dimensionality for correctly organizing decentralized internet communities of arbitrary scale. You've seen many community sites come and go and none of them can handle the problem of decentralization and voting properly with their 2-d HTML, threaded discussion groups. There's no way to handle it without an extra dimension, and to do that you need visualization.

Pangaia will creates a 3-dimensional presentation layer for the web, allowing the power of the visual cortex to make the semantic net. Given the current state of the hypertext world, we suggest that the current Web is about 2.3 dimensions. With a unified information model and visual navigation, we think this project will make the Web reach its fullest potential. This project will actually visualize the immensity of data with a 3d projection. It will be cool.

The above is the playing field field for the [New_economy]. You'll be letting your visual cortex do all the heavy work of seeing relationships.

[STUB] The intention is to use (TCP) port 8080, commonly used for people's web, to encourage migration over to the new web.
