ical2pal has just been added into CVS. I'm going to try to
get pal2ical written soon. If there are more file formats
that people want conversion utilities for, please update
this RFE or open a new one.

This just a suggestion on the application of the ical conversion:
Could exporting from and to ical be a way to sync one's pal calendar to one's google calendar? Syncing from and to google calendar would hit a sweet spot for many people.

Or perhaps a syncing feature be more fruitful by interfacing with gcalcli.
