Hi, here is a testversion of Apache::PageKit 1.12 only some more documentation and a little testting before it goes on the way to CPAN. The installation should now alot more easy. Please test it. Without distrub your your normal installation do the following: tar zxplvf Apache-PageKit-RC1.tar.gz cd Apache-PageKit-1.12 perl Makefile.PL make test maybe you have to install Apache::Test, since it is require now. Make sure your httpd is in your PATH environment. Im *very* interested in your success or failure. Your version of perl and your OS. If you are done it is save to delete the directory. Your installation is not changed in any way unless you do make install. And here it is: http://eg.2bz.de/Apache-PageKit-1.12-RC1.tar.gz -- Boris |

Hi, this patch installes a version of PageKit that suites to your installed perl. This makes your installation much easier and even more robust. The second big improvement is Apache::Test. Now we can use Apache::Test to test the PageKit and for development it is also a very big step from the testing point of view. -- Boris |

Hi, This patch fix some problems with Apache::Errorreport. - Add large comments in front of custom response headers for MSIE. Hi All, this patch lowercase all attributenames and the parameters for them. This makes no difference for now. But if we use another Template engine somehow, it makes a difference. Note the change is only for the attributes not for the tags itself. -- Boris |

Hi, May I suggest a change to the reporting of missing mandatory fields? The error report for missing fields is hard-coded to describe the mandatory fields as "red". This limits the HTML designer to match color schemes, and also confuses users if I have set errorspan_begin_tag to something other than the color red. I want to establish a different visual cue than simply color. I have changed Model.pm line 171: $model->pkit_gettext_message(qq{You did not fill out all the required fields. Please fill the <font color="<PKIT_ERRORSTR>">red</font> fields.}); To this code (based on pkit_set_errorfont()): my $color_str = $model->pkit_get_config_attr( GLOBAL => 'default_errorstr' ) || "#ff0000"; my $errorspan_begin_tag = $model->pkit_get_config_attr( GLOBAL => 'errorspan_begin_tag' ) || qq{<font color="$color_str">}; my $errorspan_end_tag = $model->pkit_get_config_attr( GLOBAL => 'errorspan_end_tag' ) || q{</font>}; $model->pkit_gettext_message('You did not fill out all the ' . $errorspan_begin_tag . 'mandatory' . $errorspan_end_tag . ' fields.'); Now I can use the Config.xml GLOBAL attributes default_errorstr, errorspan_begin_tag, and errorspan_end_tag to set the style of the error message, without the message describing the style. Hello all, let me introduce myself, my name is Alexandre Brethel, and i work for the same company in Brazil that "Leonardo T. de Carvalho <leo...@ib...>" ( who used to be quite active on this list by the late of 2001 ) worked for. Now Leonardo has left in search for "greener fields", and the PageKit maintenance has landed on my lap. We have been using PageKit on a couple sites, for about an year now, mostly as a data-entry frontend for Oracle and PostGreSQL databases backends, and boy, it's great ( thanks for your work, TJ ). But, as a new-year resolution i reckon, my boss is inclined on using PageKit with multimedia streaming ( audio and video ), and i recall Leonardo having mentioned that Boris Zentner ( hi Boris, i'm a fan of your work on the Pkit ) once made a comment about it. So, that's this email purpose, i wondered whether or not someone smarter than me ( that's not particulary difficult ) has faced this challenge before, and could spare a couple pointers and tips ( the first idea involves the PKit session and authentication over ssl -- which we currently use extensively -- to control access to the multimedia/streamed content ) on free-as-in-speech-software that might be used in conjuction with Pkit for streaming. many, many thanks in advance, regards, // Alexandre Brethel // IBIZ Tecnologia - www.ibiz.com.br // 11-5579-3178 r.212 |
