on October 15 2026, a PAGE user reported that he and others within his orginazation can not start PAGE. It would not get past "Loading library lib_ttk.tcl" in the opening screen.
After MUCH back and forth, it turned out that the culprit was not PAGE, but an incompatibility with Python 3.14.7.
Changing the version to 3.13.16 fixed the problem.
This ONLY is a problem for Windows users (both Windows 10 and Windows 11) and doesn't affect Linux users.

If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
The problem between PAGE 8.0 and 8.1 and Python 3.14.7, 3.14.8 and 3.15 seems to be due to Python upgrading the Tck/Tk version from 8.6 to 9.0.4 which is NOT compatible with PAGE at this time.
We are working with the Python group to iron out the issues.

UPDATE 10/17/2026
As of 10/17/2026 09:30 CDT I have tested python versions 3.14.7, 3.14.8 and 3.15.0 under windows and all three fail to launch PAGE correctly.
The Good news is that PAGE projects CAN run under those python versions.
Python versions 3.14.5 and 3.14.6 SEEM to work properly.
I'll update as needed.
