#7 Adding variables on defining process

I'm creating a installer for our product which ist proposed do be distributed on different platforms Windows XP/Vista/7 and on Linux Suse/ubuntu/Kubuntu etc.
Say I've defined all the files and components within the installer and exported all the instaler stuff on LINUX. Next day my colleg needs to update the installer configuration by adding files. But he's got a Windows system or he has different mountpoints to the installersources. So He has to setup a coomplete new and thus different project just to add a single file. Using a variable he would be able just to change this single setting and keep on working on the project (how nice if these variable could come from an external file within the users filesystem).
