I tested on a 9.3.0 setup and you're right: the behavior you described 
is the current one.

I suppose there is a good reason to have this behavior so I will see 
internally and give you a feedback.

Current behavior is not perfect for the reason you mentioned. On top of 
that, when sponsor grants access, he gets following message: "Access to 
the guest network has been granted." which is wrong if sponsored user 
has left is web browser.
