Hi MJ, Personally, I would do a clean new install on jessie, configure it, and then import the old database while running all the db/upgrade scripts in order. That would preserve nodes and users. Otherwise you will have to go through every configuration change listed in all of the releases between 5.6 and 7. I think just configuring from scratch is faster. You will still have to either reimport or reconfigure your switches, but that is still less work than changing everything else. > On Apr 24, 2017, at 3:13 PM, mj <li...@me...> wrote: > > Hi, > > What would be the best way to get from pf-5.6.1/wheezy to pf-7 on jessie? > > I guess: > - install jessie > - import the mysl database from 5.6.1 > - run all database upgrade scripts > - install pf-7 > But then: > > Copy the config from the old /usr/local/pf/conf to the new server, and > run the config update scripts, to convert to the new v7 config layout? > > I tried it, didn't turn out so nice. :-| > > Is is perhaps a better idea to simply skip importing the config, and > reconfigure from scratch?
