Hi, pf is used to connect to the MySQL database. You need to change the password on the database to match the one in the config (in pf.conf I think). I had to do the same when I installed it. Groupinstalled the PacketFence package and all the dependencies. Ran the installer.pl, and configurator.pl, my LAN is pretty simple, no VLAN, so I chose the 5th template of ARP mode, After configurator.pl, I started the mysqld service, then started packetfence service, then following messages showed > <code>Starting PacketFence...Checking configuration sanity... > Uncaught exception from user code: > unable to connect to database: Access denied for user 'pf'@'localhost' (using password: YES) at /usr/local/pf/lib/pf/person.pm line 52 > at /usr/local/pf/lib/pf/db.pm line 104 > pf::db::db_connect() called at /usr/local/pf/lib/pf/db.pm line 127 > pf::db::get_db_handle() called at /usr/local/pf/lib/pf/person.pm line 52 > pf::person::person_db_prepare() called at /usr/local/pf/lib/pf/db.pm line 224 > pf::db::db_query_execute('person', 'HASH(0x98f74d8)', 'person_exist_sql', 1) called at /usr/local/pf/lib/pf/person.pm line 79 > pf::person::person_exist(1) called at /usr/local/pf/bin/pfcmd line 2593 > main::sanity_check('pfdhcplistener', 'pfmon', 'pfdetect', 'httpd', 'snort') called at /usr/local/pf/bin/pfcmd line 1252 > main::service() called at /usr/local/pf/bin/pfcmd line 189 > main::__ANON__() called at /usr/local/pf/bin/pfcmd line 205 > > </code> > > The admin guide focuses on VLAN configuration.
