Greetings. I hope someone can help me solve this puzzle so I can move along. We are working to implement PacketFence for our campus but so far I have not been able to get the snmptrapd process to work for me. The traps seem to be arriving at PacketFence as evidenced by "tcpdump -n -vv -i eth0 udp port 162". However I never get anything in /usr/local/pf/logs/snmptrapd.log. When I execute "snmptrapd -f -Lo -C -c /usr/local/pf/conf/snmptrapd.conf" and send traps I don't see a thing on my screen. I suspect I'm missing some very fundamental piece. Unfortunately my efforts so far to understand what I'm doing wrong have resulted in little more than frustration. At this point I've hit a roadblock. Thank you folks for any help you may be able to offer. -- Robin D. Kundert Sr. Network Administrator Seattle Pacific University Computer & Information Systems Dept.
