No

Version: 0.5beta1
OS: Ubuntu 10.10

Under LInux OS the executable flags for the P&P executable as well as for the installer-Jar and the uninstaller-Jar are not set.
The user has to set them manually before installing, executing and uninstalling.

Setting these flags should be done by the used IzPack-installer.

Well, this problem exists since the introduction of the installer (v0.2) and was inherited from a former P&P developer. It is already known and described in the release notes, see chapter "Known issues". There is a workaround that has to be executed by the user installing the application.

This bug reports remains open because the future of the used installer software (izpack) is not clear. At the moment we are missing a better support for Windows Vista and 7 (request of administrator rights during the installation process). We will evaluate other install applications, as well as the upcoming new version of izpack. Unfortunately this is not part of our roadmap for the current P&P version 0.5. I'm very sorry for the Linux users out there, but you'll have to have to manually set the execution bits for all upcoming (beta) versions of v0.5.
