I'm currently using the nogui version on Linux and have it pushing to Weather Undeground via rapidfire. One thing that I have noticed is it is pushing the wind gust constantly even when there is none. This not only clutters the daily graph they produce with green dots but it is also out of spec with the Federal Meteorology Handbook (http://www.ofcm.gov/fmh-1/pdf/E-CH5.pdf) in Chapter 5.
According to the handbook on page 5-1 the gust should only be reported if there is a rapid fluctuation in wind speed with a variation of 10 knots or more between peaks and lulls. If this exists within 10 minutes of the most recent report then the maximum instantaneous speed should be reported.
I'd like to see the Weather Underground upload piece only report the wind gust if it exists instead of constantly reporting the current wind speed.
Thank you for the suggestion. I'm going to look into this further. It should be easy enough to add. But I want to check if this is consistent world-wide.
