Maybe someone already asked for this but I can't find it so I'm asking it here. I'm building an organ only PC, and I can't make it headless (without monitor) because it asks for confirmation about saving when I turn the organ off after setting the generals... I'd like for an option in the settings that allow to autosave on exit, like HW does have, so I can bury the PC on the organ consolle and control it by midi only.
GO offers a MIDI accessible save button.
The long term plan for GO is eliminating any shutdown procedure - GOLive was a first prototyp of a GO system just "crashing" the OS.
Auto-saving could be a great option (at least in the short term). The save button does not seem sufficient because if the user forgets to hit the button, the computer will appear to hang when shutting down.
Here is a patch that implements auto-saving on exit.
The hang issue should be gone. The GO behaviour has been aligned with the current change sampleset by MIDI.
GO requires an explit save with a non-blocking close.
