hello, iirc you wrote several weeks ago, that there will be a new release in a few weeks. i'm just curious when are you going to upload a new binary (for windows). there are several checkins to cvs from the last days and weeks, i hope the portaudio stuff solves the sound card problems on windows. should a cvs checkout work on linux or should i wait until you announced a new release? (i cannot compile on windows, so i'll have to wait there anyway). thx, -s |

I agree, there has been enough recent activity, including bug fixes, to warrant a new release. I consider the Windows and SGI versions ready, and Linux and OSX nearly so. I would prefer to release all four platforms together. A release ahead of the holidays seems reasonable. One thing I would like to do this time is validate the various installers for the release before going public with it. Is there anyone willing to help with this? Thanks. -Amar ----- Original Message ----- From: "smoerk" <sm...@gm...> To: <osw...@li...> Sent: Sunday, December 14, 2003 7:57 AM Subject: [Osw-users] new release? > hello, > > iirc you wrote several weeks ago, that there will be a new release in a > few weeks. i'm just curious when are you going to upload a new binary > (for windows). there are several checkins to cvs from the last days and > weeks, i hope the portaudio stuff solves the sound card problems on > windows. should a cvs checkout work on linux or should i wait until you > announced a new release? Primary consider is to a) test if it installs correctly and b) can run tutorial/demo patches. Of course, if anyone has installer experience (especially OS X), please speak up. -Amar ----- Original Message ----- From: "smoerk" <sm...@gm...> To: "Amar" <am...@pt...>; <osw...@li...> Sent: Thursday, December 18, 2003 3:45 AM Subject: Re: [Osw-users] new release? > Amar wrote: > > > I agree, there has been enough recent activity, including bug fixes, to > > warrant a new release. I wish I could say I have time to help (especially with debugging my alsa code) but with vacation coming up I'm pressed as is to get enough real work hours in for this month. Also I've been using kernel 2.6.0 (i.e. alsa 1.0+) and a lot of things that used to work are kind of broken. --------------------------------------------------------------- Andrew (Andy) W.
