Please ask your question here http://ostorybook.tuxfamily.org/v5/ oStorybook migrate to this site for many years.
Yes its the same issue I am facing in the usage of this software I am trying to locate oStoryBook in mac but its not working please help me to solve this issue.
When I try to open a new project, I cannot save it to Documents>oStoryBook on my Mac. I can only save to Documents. Same thing happens when I try to open an oStorybook file; I cannot access Documents>oStoryBook. When I go to Mac System Preferences>Security $ Privacy>Files and Folders, I do not see oStoryBook listed as an app that has access to all files and folders. What can I do to get oStoryBook or the jar file to show up as an app that has access to all files and folders?

I think this is happening because the jar file is not an executable; it doesn't show up in the list of applications. How can I make the jar file show as an application?

I have Java 8 Update 281 installed and I just downloaded the most recent version of oStorybook for the Mac. I also set my Mac so I can open Unidentified Developer Apps & Allow Downloads From Anywhere On Apple Mac. Yet when I open the oStorybook-5.04.05d-macOSx.tar.gz to Contents>Resources>Java> and attempt to open oStorybook.jar using the Java Launcher, nothing happens!!! Do I need anything else to make this work, for example, a JDK or JDE?
Sourceforge is eager to have me download the Mac version. Problem: I don't have a Mac. If I needed to download it again, I'd want the Linux version. (I don't need to download it, I already have it.)

Still trying to open the jar file using JavaLauncher but nothing happens. This is a 64-bit version?
Did you notice that the Java version is 8? Unfortunately I don't have a Mac, I never had one. I can't help much with this system. Thank you for using the forum on the official website http://ostorybook.tuxfamily.org/v5/
I have downloaded the latest version to a Mac Air using Big Sur. I am unable to open the jar file using the latest JAVA version. I get to: macOS cannot verify the developer of “oStorybook.jar”. Are you sure you want to open it? I answer yes but nothing happens; any suggestions?
