Garrett, Thanks for your response. With Norman's help I've found a different route to do what I wanted. So I don't need to resolve the issue of the exception thrown by ossimPlanet anymore, but just in case you still wanted to, the contents of my .geom file were: pixel_scale_units: meters pixel_scale_xy: ( 1.000000000000000, 1.000000000000000 ) pixel_type: pixel_is_point tie_point_units: meters tie_point_xy: ( 289800.500000000000000, 4319599.500000000000000 ) units: meters And yes, image_info core dumped, also. Thanks again, -Jim ________________________________ From: oss...@li... Hello: Hmmm, core dump should not happen. What is the projection in or what does the .geom file look like? Could you paste the .geom file to the list, it shouldn't be very big. Also, try image_info and see if image_info core dumps. the external .geom should be an override and should get picked up as you expect. If that works try something in the ossim core that processes the pixels like an icp: icp tiff_tiled input.tif out.tif to make sure pixel processing is good If that works, ossimPlanet uses the core and should access pixels and geometry information in similar fashions as above. I hope to eventually get rid of it.] I've just started using ossimPlanet and am having trouble loading home-grown georeferenced TIFFs, which I am trying to build from TerraServer images and world files. After I've gone through the process of using tfw2ogeom to generate a .geom file to accompany my .tif, ossimPlanet throws an exception when I try to "Open Image" the .tif. Am I correct in presuming that the corresponding .geom file (same filename) will get read automatically when I specify a .tif to open? Or is there perhaps another step to combine the .geom and the .tif into a single file? I suspect that my problem could be in the keyword list file I used to generate the .geom file, because I didn't really know what Projection type and Projection parameters to specify. I would greatly appreciate if somebody could give me some guidance on how to properly generate the files needed to load an image. I have looked around on the OSSIM website, the maillist archives, and the ossimPlanet User's Guide, but haven't found anything. Is there a tutorial somewhere that would explain this process to me?
