You will need to add your filter to a factory if you want to use any of
the core applications like orthoigen, igen, imagelinker with your
filter.  In your filter you will also need load/saveState methods.

Filter, prepared by Garrett . em..., another question. Is it necessary

I think what you want to do is right a filter if you want to do
something to the pixel data.  So you would connect like this.

Image_handler->your_filter->image_writer.

Your_filter will implement a getTile() method.  Then the writer will
sequence through the area of interest.

Look at one of the filters in ossim/src/ossim/imaging like
ossimBrightnessContrastSource for an example.
