Hi, forgive me if this has already been asked or possibly even implemented in later versions (i'm currently using 0.2.12-1 from debian stable). But I have been trying to figure out a way to better integrate Osmo into my project systems, i'd like to autostart Osmo minimized, but not have it drop an icon into the tray or window list, but instead to maximize when you click the clock in the tray (and minimize the same way when you click it again.
I'm using this in Tint2 and the tray clock can take custom commands, right now I have left-click starting up Osmo, but there's a delay, especially the first time you open it in session (like most linux apps), would love to make it work instantaneously like it does when it's started and minimized to tray icon.
Awesome program! It's really addictive once you start using it and i'd like to make it the standard calendar +notes/contacts etc. program in my project (Vuu-do Linux).
Thanks and take care,
greenjeans
Hi greenjeans,
Sorry, I am not familiar with the software you are using.
Do I understand you correctly.
Would you like to start Osmo hidden (minimized and hidden in tray) and maximize/minimize a running instance from the command line?
Max
Hi Max, yes that's it exactly!
My plan is to autostart it on boot, and make a small on/off switch with
shell script and use a left-click on the clock to activate the script, so
you can click once and osmo pops up (like the calendar normally does on
most systems), and click again and it disappears, but it's always running
in the background so it's super-fast to open.
This is my project, small Openbox system based on Devuan:
