these are the comparisons between the external timer and shark
using different timer mode

PIT: the old mode without TSC
TSC: only TSC
TSC+RTC: TSC with CMOS corrections

(P3-333Mhz) PIT - (on 15h) delta = 175 sec 184 ms
(P3-333Mhz) TSC - (on 15h) delta = 1 sec 760 ms
(P3-333Mhz) TSC+RTC - (on 15 h) delta = 450 ms

(P4-2000Mhz) PIT - (on 15h) delta = 254 sec
(P4-2000Mhz) TSC - (on 15h) delta = 4 sec 520 ms
(P4-2000Mhz) TSC+CMOS - (on 15h) delta = 170 ms
