I was wondering if there were any kinds of reports that people want that might not be available in the current release of OSC.
I have an idea for one that does CSV file for mailing labels but is based on family properties not individual properties.
I thought I would see if there were other reports that people want who might not want to become MySQL gurus in order to get the information they want.
So just add to this Thread and we will see where we can go. (no promises, except to do the best we can) (But I am one who tends to think that we can do anything we want with data somehow)
Or any ideas on how to improve reports and queries?
Bring em on!

Dave, in the Methodist church is there any kind of standard quarterly or annual report you have to turn in. It would be cool if we could start creating denominational reporting modules.

One report that I'd like to see available would be under this scenario....
We have a building program where funds were pledged. We'd like to be able to generate a report that consisted of just these funds. Year end, it would all be included in contribution, but say quarterly, we'd like to be able to send a building pledge update so that members can see where they stand toward reaching their pledged amount. Also, it would be good to have quarterly statements. We can generate full YTD statements each quarter and that suffices, but if we could generate and email quarterly contribution statements that helps to double check giving each quarter.

Quarterly and annual reports are both necessary in larger churches, as well as the ability to do a report at a member's request. My suggestion would be don't limit it to YTD, though. Go by YTD, YearToMonth, this Quarter, Last Quarter, current month, and previous month. Also make it line item, not just a grand total. Have the ability to specify which fund(s) if you really need that, but if you do a line item I don't see a need to do this, unless you are wanting to send out reminders based on a flagging of accounts that are behind. But do you really want to hound your people like that in the first place?
In addition to the above suggestions, might I suggest there be a Budget module that also allows monthly, Quarterly, and Annual reports? These should be available to any voting member who requests them at any time. Perhaps have a function on the web side to allow a member to request a budget statement and it be automatically e-mailed with the most current info? This would of course depend on church staff making sure the data is updated at the end of every month.
To answer Steve's question, it would be an excellent idea to auto-generate reports required by denominations. In the Assemblies of God, for example, they have an annual church ministries report I think they call it that is required. They are very big on demographics and accurate records. They also have an annual renewal form that every credentialed minister must complete and send in by December 31. Something to consider...but worth the effort if the Denominations will cooperate.
Ad-Hoc reporting may become necessary to do some of these things.
My 2 Cents.
