Hi All, I'm trying to write a client-server application based on ORBit. I need C, C++ and Ada bindings. Is it possible to install the Ada binding (orbitada) over ORBit2 or do I have to install ORBit for the C / Ada bindings and ORBit2 for the C++ binding by using IIOP? I don't find enough compatibility informations to answer this question alone. Does anyone have an idea? Thanks a lot. Hello everybody, I'm currently working on my final year engineer project on CORBA. The purpose of my study is to introduce the corba standard in a Combat Management System. I wonder if it's possible to install Ada bindings (gnack-1.1c) over the ORBit2 project? Thanks to all, Best regards, Sébastien SODDU _________________________________________________________________ Protect your PC - get McAfee.com VirusScan Online http://clinic.mcafee.com/clinic/ibuy/campaign.asp?cid=3963 |

Hi, Is it possible to install ORBitcpp over ORBit-0.5.13.? In this case which version of ORBitcpp do I have to install? If not do I have to install ORBit2 before? Hi everybody, I've installed ORBit 0.5.13-3 (the one included in Red Hat) and i would like to upgrade it for the C++ bindings. Is it possible to upgrade it (in this case, which file do I have to install and where can I download it?) or do I have to use ORBit2? Hi Bruce & all, I've installed ORBit 0.5.13-3 from red hat and I need to install orbitcpp. Do I have to download and install the file available at http://download.sourceforge.net/orbitcpp/orbitcpp-0.28.1.tar.gz to complete the installation or is it necessary to download and install the other version of ORBit available at ftp://orbitcpp.sourceforge.net/pub/orbitcpp/ORBit-0.5.1-patched-for-orbitcpp.tar.gz ? In the source files in compiler/, many of .cc files include the default=20 parameters. With my gcc (3.2), it fails compiling these. Basically, aft= er I=20 commented all the def params in the .cc files, it worked fine because the= def=20 param were already declared in the .h files. -Tim D. |

Actually, I just use the "string_to_object" facility in this instance which turns the IOR written to a file into an object id, I don't use any naming service (in our benchmarking we evaluate naming service separately), here is summary of the client code CORBA::ORB_var orb = CORBA::ORB_init(argc, argv,"orbit-local-orb"); // Read and destringify the Og object's IOR. ifstream in("synchronousTests.ior"); string ior; in >> ior; CORBA::Object_var obj = orb->string_to_object(ior.c_str()); if ( CORBA::is_nil( obj.in() ) ) { cerr << "Nil synchronousTests reference" << endl; throw 0; } // Try to narrow to Og::synchronousTests OgB::synchronousTests_var st = OgB::synchronousTests::_narrow(obj.in()); if (CORBA::is_nil(st.in())) { cerr << "Argument is not a synchronousTests reference" << endl; throw 0; } switch (method) { case STEST1: gettimeofday(&startTime,NULL); for (i=0;i<repetitions;i++) { tr = st->sTest1(100); } gettimeofday(&endTime,NULL); delta = calcDifferenceInTimes(&startTime,&endTime); cout << "result is " << tr << " after " << repetitions << " repetitions" << endl; break; default: break; } * Alix Pouladdej Nortel Networks Advanced Technology (ATI) www http://navigate.us.nortel.com/ati * Tel: (613) 765-6043 Esn: (6+) 395-6043 * E-mail: mailto:al...@no... * Fax: (613) 765-0678 -----Original Message----- From: Dan Kegel [mailto:dk...@ix...] Sent: Monday, December 23, 2002 4:15 PM To: Pouladdej, Alix [CAR:0V11:EXCH] Cc: orb...@li...
