I'm using cygwin, but for now I suggest not to mess with crosscompilers (it= would have been needed if you hadn't had linux)-- just use gcc in linux! W= e'll compile the src in windows somehow when it is done(because the src wil= l be cross-platform) -- windows isn't good thing for working, I think. I de= cided to add support of windows because of two issues: 1.even many develope= rs don't have linux and 2.many users don't have linux. About cygwin: I have too old version of it(old gtk), so I cannot compile gu= i in it. I used to compile some code(usually examples of using grapher, pro= grams whose solve PDE's) in msvc.net 2002, but now I've given up, because I= don't like ide's and windows, and problems with external libs(which isn't = in linux!), and because I cannot create good solution file to work with dir= ectory' hierarchy (in linux it simply solved using relative path BASE=3D../= ../ in makefiles) But: if you'll get latest version of cygwin, I think you won't have any pro= blems with it (I have problems only because out-of-date cygwin) -- installa= tion is natural and easy. Try it, if you want. (We'll do this when we are r= eleasing finished program for windows). And about minGW: I saw a usage of it a year ago. One man have ported latest= at that time gcc 3.5 to it(compiled it with gcc 3.2 in minGW) in about 3 h= ours, and everything worked fine. But he is wizard in programming and gcc.= =20 There are many excellent expirienced developers in our project, maybe someb= ody uses minGW so he can say more than I?
