Now, when using email, I have to answer ~10 letters(or more) per day -- it takes me about 3 hours. So basically there's no difference between reading the postings online in a forum or offline in your mail programm. As you ask everyone to answer the questions, a mailinglist will have a certain amount of dynamic, as soon as everyone is contributing to the discussion -- and that's not only a job of you.
