It is hard to say what is going on. You should give enough information to 
describe the enviroment so someone could attempt to replicate the problem. 
Desribe which distribution you are using, what version of OProfile and the 
kernle you are using. Also take a look in /var/lib/oprofile/oprofiled.log and 
/var/log/messages to see if there are any messages related to this as mentioned 
in the instructions.
