    Thanks Javier.

    Can they coexist?

Like we use XavaPro for fine-grained security but Liferay for the
    navigation?
Who will manage the Users in that case? Or is it possible to have same user
db via XavaPro or Liferay both?

Any other considerations we should be aware of?

I have really liked XavaPro, but some of the portlet features are too
interesting to ignore. So I am trying to get the best of both words.

    Hi Prithvi,

There are several differences between Liferay and XavaPro:

    • A XavaPro application runs on a simple Tomcat, so it's lightweight.
    • In XavaPro the menu is generated automatically from modules, with
Liferay you have to create the menu by hand.
    • With XavaPro you have fine-grained security, so you can restrict
some actions of certain module to a role, for example.
    • XavaPro provides a Mobile UI.

    Cheers

    Hi Prithvi

    Can they coexist?

No. You have to choose one.

Well, if you want to have an external portal with Liferay and an internal application with XavaPro, you could deploy the application both servers and use LDAP to have the same autentification. But even in this case, the menus will be different, the roles will be different and fine-grained security will be not available for the Liferay part.

but some of the portlet features are too interesting to ignore

    Which features?

    Cheers
