Hi all,

I wonder if the openvrml core library contains the implementation file =
(ie. cpp) for the VRMLevent?
The header file VRMLevent is provided but not the actual implementation?
Any clues??

um i cvs co libvrml97 and i could
not see openvrml.spec

i did see a openvrmlspec.in

please advise
on how to

Please submit changes via the SourceForge patch manager. Use "cvs diff -u"
to produce patches. I can go ahead and add the icon to CVS, but in the
future new file additions can be sent to one of the maintainers rather
than broadcast over the mailing list.

entry in the %changelog section when you change the spec file.) I would
suggest, though, using the icon for the Lookat rpm rather than the rpm for
the core library.

I take it you solved the problem?

Yes. In fact, I think the version of rpm 3 you have can read rpm 4 output.
However, earlier versions in the 3 series which ship with Red Hat 6.x
cannot.

[Openvrml-develop] CVS source reorganization

I will soon be doing some reorganization of the CVS source in conjunction
with wrapping up the name change from LibVRML97 to OpenVRML. These changes
will break updates on existing working directories, and checkouts are
likely to be flakey during the course of the transition. Details are here:

ok attached is my ver of openvrml.spec and the lookat.xpm icon

basically the build root needed an ending forward slash and the install
needed -rf not just -f to remove a dir

i dont have a site to post too but if anyone wants the rpms i can email
em or some such

i cant seem to figure out why its canning out on me

it seemed to work once, really it did

but unfortunately it compiled for 686

im trying for a generic i386 target

so it'll hopefully work in any rpm type dist


mandrake 7.2's ver of rpm is still 3.0.5


still im gonna see if i can figure it out

can someone dbl check this and {hopefully }
find that its something im doing!!

Those listed as "developers" on the project in the SourceForge summary are
those that have CVS write access. It has been our (the maintainers')
informal policy to give CVS write access to folks (if they want it) after
they've gotten at least one substantial patch accepted.

As I said previously, I'm not prepared to support "official" binary
distributions for Linux from the OpenVRML web site. Even source RPMs can
be problematic at this point, since rpm 3.x won't read the output of rpm
4.x (and besides, tarballs with a spec file in them are just as easy to
deal with).

If you want to host RPMs, let me know where and I can link to your page
from the OpenVRML Web pages.

If you do

  rpm -tb openvrml-0.9.0.tar.gz

you will likely get some kind of installable output. The spec file
probably still needs love, though.

I don't think I want to mess with hosting binaries on SourceForge yet.
There are a bunch of binary compatibility issues between different Linux
distros now, and I'd prefer not to wade into that quagmire.

However, if you or anyone else would like to build and host RPMs from your
Web site, we can link to you from the Web pages.

I have the fix for this, but I need to get my system working with ssh to
commit the change to gtklookat.

For those of you who were wondering, no I haven't fallen off the face of
the Earth.  (But it was a close thing -- I've been in Erie, Pennsylvania
