I just upgraded to Mesa-5.0 and tried building again.  I started a
completely fresh build tree, reconfigured, etc...   Oddly enough,
openvrml is still trying to link with /usr/lib/libGLU.so event though
/usr/local/lib is ahead of /usr/lib in my LD_LIBRARY_PATH.

Now my compile is crashing at:

Any idea why openvrml is going for the /usr/lib GLU lib, and how I
might fix that?
