It was working at home this morning on my LAN, and I'm back off the LAN again right now. It wasn't working, and I upped the logs for samba as you asked. While I was at it I upgraded to samba 3.0 and restarted my computers and now it's working fine! Maybe the connection was just too slow for samba 2.x to negotiate.
