Ok folks, I'll try my best to explain the issues. Backends: OpenVPN 2.0.9 and 2.1.rc4 on Debian Linux Clients: Windows XP SP2 (but clearly some differences in update levels, see below) Pretty Standard Configurations: * Running in Tun Mode * Running over TCP not UDP * No Fragmentation or MSSFix directives (as I understand it these are generally UDP only parameters). * Tried toplogy subnet as well in 2.1.rc4 server tests. * Tried in configurations where I'm fully routing to back end server and where the VPN server is MASQURADING to the back-end network. The problem is the following: * Client Establishes Connection. * If I then IMMEDIATELY attempt to access an SMB share via \\<IP Address> I will on some Windows clients get "No network provider accepted the given network path" error. However if I wait a few seconds it works, just fine. However TCP Ping's are immediately successful, and there is no difference if one uses DNS Name or IP address so it appears to be a pure SMB issue. I realize you'll now simply say..what are the differences in Update Levels of the Windows Systems involved, but I'm just wondering if anyone has ever experience anything like this before. Cheers |
