Hi, I hate to bother you but I'm in need of help. I
have a Linux-Mandrake running on PIII733 with GeForce.
I installed and configured XFree86-4.0 and nVidia new
drivers. Everything is working. Befoure installation
removed or uninstalled Mesa and lib files that were on
the way of installation. I installed UT 400a. UT.ini
was missing , I got it from your webpage. Using UTCP I
configured it to use SDL, which is installed (latest).
    But SDLDrv.so , SDLGL.so and SDLGL.ini are missing from
UT/system directory. I have no idia how to get them.
Please help me , in detail(new to Linux), I already
spent 12 hr trying to get this game running.

400a does not support SDL. Upgrade your installation to 413
    using this:
    http://download.sourceforge.net/OpenUT/UT-Patch413a-Linux.tar.bz2

Change to where you installed UT and then uncompress the
    patch file with "bunzip2 -dc UT-Patch413a-Linux.tar.bz2 |
tar xvf -". Now change into the newly created "Patch"
directory. Read the README there for instructions.

I think I might know what is the problem. Reading OpenUT
HOWTO I noticed in section for SDL that some files mignt not
get installed. I checked my /user/include and I don't even
have /SDL dirrectory. Maybe I did something wrong during
install SDL-1.1.2 ? here is what I used after uncompressing:
    cd SDl-1.1.2
    ./configure
    make
    make install
everything went thru without any error mesages, I also tryed
    ./configure --enable-dynamic-opengl
    make
    make install
    What should I do?

Ok, problem: during instalation of nvidia drivers I removed
Mesa and everything that was on the way. But I did a backup
    of X11R6 and X11,so I still have it. I checked config.log
of SDL-1.1.2 and found following error. Couldn't
find /GL/gl.h and /GL/glx.h. Maybe that is the reson my SDL
doesnt work. I checked /usr/include and surely enuf I don't
    have /GL dirrectory. I downloaded gl.h and glx.h from
    Mesa3D SVC(latest). Question: do I create a /GL
dirrectory , put these files in there and recompile SDL, or
what should I do. Sorry for so many questions, but I'm
realy new to Linux and apreciate any help I can get.
    Grateful in advance.

Here is how I got to work: download latest .rpm of SDL even
if you already have it and install it, than go to SVC and
follow instraction on compiling it and compile . I know it
might sound strange but that is how it worked for me...
    Good luck.
