I'm very happy to announce that Freestyle Learning (FSL) and
OpenUSS will merge into the same SourceForge project!!!

Therefore you can see at http://sourceforge.net/projects/openuss
that all the descriptions of the project were changed into:
"Freestyle Learning (FSL) and Open University Support System (OpenUSS)
are specifications for Learning Content System (LCS) and Learning
Management System (LMS). They provide J2SE, J2ME and J2EE reference
implementations on those specifications."... read more

OpenUSS - POW 1.3.5 and EJOSA Template 1.3.5 are now
synchronized with one version of ext-libs (External Libraries).

Both projects use the same version of ext-libs. OpenUSS
only adds some external libraries, which are not used by
EJOSA.

The final version of OpenUSS 1.3.5 and EJOSA 1.3.5 will use
these same libraries.

If you cannot wait to try OpenUSS 1.3.5 and EJOSA 1.3.5
just checkout the codes from CVS or download the files from
the "backup" management on each project. After that you have
to download the ext-libs from the SourceForge page for each
project. I already upgraded the download page for OpenUSS
1.3.5 and EJOSA 1.3.5 ext-libs.... read more

OpenUSS 1.3.5 Build from cvs is now finished!

Here are the steps:
- Checkout the most update codes from CVS. There are
some additional files, dirs, etc.
Checkout both: openuss and pow modules!
- Download the ext-libs from:

- Unzip this file into your openuss/ext-libs !and! pow/ext-libs.
You need this on both openuss and pow!

A new release of OpenUSS Version 1.1.

What's new?
- Upgrade to JDK 1.3.
- Upgrade to JOnAS 2.3.
- Developers can compile all the HTML files for xmlc with ant scripts.
- The GUI is upgraded.
- Every institutions can handle "closed group lectures" for their students.

- And many bug fixes.

We release the first stable version of OpenUSS!!!

This version is also used by our reference implementation. The sourcecodes are included so everyone can take a glance to the inside structure of our EJB based component architecture.

The first alpha release of OpenUSS (Open Source University
Support System) is now available. This release is targeted
to the developers community.

We include all the documentations and sourcecodes available.
EJBs like Student, Assistant, Faculty, Semester, Subject
and MailService are also included with the sourcecodes.

Some design patterns for EJB like:
- Business Interface Pattern
- Facade Pattern
- Complex relationship
are used by OpenUSS architecture. You can just look at
