Hi, I'm trying again to sync my phone using bluetooth and syncml, but still no luck. I've the latest of everything compiled myself and the patched wbxml2. My phone asks me if I want to sync, and I press yes and then msynctool hangs and ends with: Synchronizing group "syncml-file" The previous synchronization was unclean. Slow-syncing Member 1 of type file-sync just connected Member 2 of type syncml-obex-client had an error while connecting: Timeout while waiting for a reply to message "CONNECT" Member 1 of type file-sync just disconnected All clients have disconnected The sync failed: Unable to connect one of the members Error synchronizing: Unable to connect one of the members Here is my configuration: <config> <bluetooth_address>00:13:70:D6:4E:39</bluetooth_address> <bluetooth_channel>11</bluetooth_channel> <interface>0</interface> <identifier>PC Suite</identifier> <version>1</version> <wbxml>1</wbxml> <username></username> <password></password> <type>2</type> <usestringtable>0</usestringtable> <onlyreplace>0</onlyreplace> <recvLimit>10000</recvLimit> <allowLateStatus>0</allowLateStatus> <maxObjSize>725000</maxObjSize> <noPendingReplies>0</noPendingReplies> <contact_db>Contacts</contact_db> <calendar_db>Calendar</calendar_db> <note_db>Notes</note_db> </config> Attached are my log files. What can I look at in order to find the bug? Thanks a lot! |

If you copy the vcf's manually to the phone you can convert them= =20 using iconv. There seem to be converters already integrated into the code as the working= =20 transfer from phone to pc shows. So it's propably a minor bug? Regards Gerik |

Hi, one thing I forgot to mention: If you are coming, please bring any phone (and cables) you have and which you want to see supported (even older phones). We can establish usb, bluetooth and http connections if necessary. Ah, and dont forget to make a backup if there is vital data on it :) Best Regards, Armin |

Hi list! Yeppie! After applying the wbxml2-patch I finally managed to sync my Nokia 6630 to evolution via USB. I'm using libopensync-0.18, libopensync-plugin-evolution2-0.18 and a fairly recent svn version of the syncml-obex-client. I can create contacts and appointments in evolution as well as on the phone and they'll be properly synchronized. It also works to change an entry on the phone or in evolution and synchronize. However, I've still some issues with umlauts, alarms and recurrences. If I add a contact or an appointment with German umlauts (=C3=A4, =C3=B6, = =C3=BC, ...) in evolution, after synchronization the umlauts appear kind of scrambled on the phone. If I add umlauts on the phone, they are transfered correctly to evolution. I figure that it has something to do with evolution's export functions, because the same problem occurs when I export my contacts from evolution as vcards. Is this a known problem and is there anything I can do about it? Second problem appears when I create an appointment with an alarm set in evolution. The sync will fail on that entry and synchronization will only finish successfully again after removing the alarm or the whole entry from evolution. On the other hand, if I create an appointment with alarm on the phone, the sync is successful and the appointment appears in evolution. However the alarm set on the phone ist not present in evolution. Any ideas? This would be quite important for me to work. Third issue is a similar thing with recurrences. If I create an appointment with recurrence, only the "master"-appointment is synced. Its recurrences do not appear in the calendar they are synced to, but only in the original one. Wouldn't be too serious if this will not work, because in evolution recurrences are a pain anyway. If traces for a specific issue are needed, please let me know. By the way, excellent work! Hi everyone, a Mini-HOWTO has been put online on how I managed to sync my Nokia 6230i with Mozilla Calendar over Bluetooth using OpenSync. It is available here: http://www.mesw.de/opensource/opensync_howto_gnokii_sunbird.html Even if you don't have a 6230i or don't want to use Mozilla Calendar, you may still want to read the document to get an idea what it takes to get OpenSync working with your phone. As soon as SyncML works for me I plan to present another HOWTO on that. Markus |

Hi, I have build libopensync and multisync from src, with the focus to create some pkg for ArchLinux. So my first problem in this task was to detect the right deps for libopensync. The configuration scripts tell me about glib2 and sqlite3, but make breaks in need for swig. Ok, first question is this a build dependency only or also runtime ? Next step I build multisync pkg and install it. Seems to work all correct. But which configuration parameters do I need to build the gui with multisync too. At the moment I build these separate. Then after I start multisync gui, I get an error about a missing png : ** (multisync-0.90:6945): WARNING **: Couldn't find pixmap file: multisync-0.90/multisync_small.png Seems to be the picuture for the tray icon. First I thought about a install failure, but then I ascertain that there is no png in src. Where can I get it ? And sorry for my bad English. mfg Daniel, |

Hi Francesc, i now fixed the crash which appeared when you selected bluetooth but didnt specify a bluetooth address. thanks for your bug report. (this does not fix the "Bluetooth connect error" of course). Did you choose the correct bluetooth channel in your config? Hi I've been trying to use the syncml-obex-client with my nokia 6230i but it looks it can't connect to the phone. I see the phone from gnome-bluetooth-manager and I used hcitool and sdptool to find out the address and channel. Then I looked in the mailing list archives but no matter what I change in the config file I always get the same message when I try to sync: The previous synchronization was unclean. Slow-syncing Member 2 of type file-sync just connected Member 1 of type syncml-obex-client had an error while connecting: Bluetooth connect error Member 2 of type file-sync just disconnected All clients have disconnected Things I tried in the config file: wbxml: 1,0 version: 0 1 2 (2 segfaults) allowLateStatus 1 maxObjSize 725000 bluetooth address in uppercase Any advice would be very appreciated. Thank you very much. This is my current config file: <config> <bluetooth_address>08:00:28:4B:EB:08</bluetooth_address> <bluetooth_channel>11</bluetooth_channel> <interface>0</interface> <identifier>PC Suite</identifier> <version>1</version> <wbxml>1</wbxml> <username></username> <password></password> <type>2</type> <usestringtable>0</usestringtable> <onlyreplace>0</onlyreplace> <recvLimit>10000</recvLimit> <allowLateStatus>0</allowLateStatus> <maxObjSize>0</maxObjSize> <noPendingReplies>0</noPendingReplies> <contact_db>addressbook</contact_db> <calendar_db>calendar</calendar_db> <note_db>tasks</note_db> </config> I also attach a trace file. |

Pawel, I'm not the maintainer of the SynCE plugin, but I looked at the patch and think it looks good (though I can't test if it works or not, because I have no CE device). So I just committed it (if anyone doesn't like this, feel free to revert the commit, which is easy with SVN). Anyone else with a CE device wants to test this?
