Have you used the "Archive Old Entries..." action in the File menu? It have worked here (KDE 3.5.4 on Mandriva Cooker). I just needed to select the "Delete only, do not save" option. -- Eduardo |

The syncml plugin and libsyncml work as a "syncml server". What you seem to need is the syncml-client plugin (that uses the Sync4j syncml client library). But I have never used it. I think support for working as a syncml client (and a plugin or utility for using this mode) is planned for libsyncml, but I don't know how far we are from this. -- Eduardo |

Thanks for the reply Matthias. > What about syncml-http-server .... this depends on TCP IP. If I understand correctly, syncml-http-server actually starts a server on the localhost that allows other syncml clients to connect. I'm trying to connect (as a client) to an existing SyncML enabled http server elsewhere and use it as a source of data (I don't have control over the remote syncml server). It'd be great if you could CC me on any replies. Cheers, Chris. |

Hi, I deleted some old event on my mobile, because I wasn't able to do this with KDEPIM (see other email). Afterwards, I get the following conflict messages: Conflict for Mapping 0x80f84a0: Entry 1: UID: libkcal-1378433734.680 <vcal> <Event> <DateCalendarCreated>
20060807T115922Z
</DateCalendarCreated> <DateCreated>
20060729T195149Z
</DateCreated> <Sequence>
0
</Sequence> <LastModified>
20060418T173020Z
</LastModified>

Neue zahnb

</Event> <UnknownNode> <NodeName>ORGANIZER</NodeName>
MAILTO:
</UnknownNode> <UnknownNode> <NodeName>CREATED</NodeName>
20060729T195149Z
</UnknownNode> <UnknownNode> <NodeName>UID</NodeName>
libkcal-1378433734.680
</UnknownNode> <UnknownNode> <NodeName>SEQUENCE</NodeName>
0
</UnknownNode> <UnknownNode> <NodeName>LAST-MODIFIED</NodeName>
20060418T173020Z
</UnknownNode> <UnknownNode> <NodeName>SUMMARY</NodeName>
Neue zahnb
</UnknownNode> </vcal> Entry 2: UID: 00000000031D <vcal> <Event> <DateStarted>
00000T000000Z
</DateStarted> <DateEnd>
00000T000000Z
</DateEnd>

Neue zahnb

<LastModified>
20060807T094442Z
</LastModified> </Event> </vcal> ===>> The Entry1 is a report from KDEPIM (libkcal-... UID), while Entry2 is obviously stemming from irmc-sync (even if I added them in other order....) Somehow, opensync detected already that the entry has to be deleted, because there is NO event-start/end date in Entry1. There are only entries on <DateCalendarCreated>, <DateCreated>, <LastModified> The Entry2 values reflect a funny sort of deleting an event. Does this information help already, or do you need any traces? Bye, Achim P.S.: Mobile is SonyEricsson W800i (device is K750i with updated firmware). KDE 3.5.4 from fresh Kubuntu Dapper REPO |

Hi, I sync between KDEPIM and irmc-sync. Sadly, the standard telephone number labels of both of them vary. The mobile phone knows only an entry "Fax" while KDEPIM manages as default entries "Fax (Business)" and "Fax (Private)". This way, several phone number types can NOT be seen in the tabular display in kontact. I see those details, only when I select the individual person entry, so that I see all entries in the right half of the window. Therefore I'd like to have a config file, where I can correlate labels of both sides. For each entry, that isn't specified by such a special rule, the default identic-map should rule. #### Another problem with KDEPIM: I tried to delete older entries than xx with KDE 3.5.4 in Kubuntu Dapper. Kontact selected the appropriate events, but didn't delete them (it exported them to the OLD-EVENT file - but didn't delete them from the normal lists). Am I the only one, who has this problem? Hi, When trying to configure the kdepim plugin from svn it doesn't find the=20 KDE-headers if they are installed e.g. in /usr/kde/3.5/...=20 This is solved by putting KDE_SET_PREFIX in configure.in before=20 AM_KDE_WITH_NLS. Please change this in SVN. I already made a ticket, but it seems like no one is interested in this... Regards =2D-=20 Stefan Wolf <wo...@fs...> |

This is quite new and not well tested yet. Sorry for the delay. It looks like that covers the specific requirements for privacy, so please find the traces from a re-run sync between the two systems at this URL: http://rimspace.net/osync-trace-kde-nokia6680.tar.gz They were too big to send through the gmane interface that I use to read the list, and besides, not everyone needs 4MB of trace files from me. I can leave them there forever, pretty much, so go for your life. There are also a whole slew of data preservation issues between the two systems, among which are: - Symbian alarms are lost from Calendar entries - Undetected duplication of Calendar entries - "Memo" type events change to "Meeting" type events - this happened only when the duplicate was sent from KDE to the phone I believe that these are known issues, and that there isn't (currently) much to be done because the infrastructure for mapping one platform to another is in development. If that isn't correct, and there is some way that I can help by discovering and mapping the format used by the Symbian OS calendar or whatever, please let me know. I don't have a huge level of free time, but I can try and work on this because it is a pretty desirable solution for me. >> > Also interesting would be the information in which format the vcal or >> > vtodo is stored. But there occured another problem. but i think i've seen it before in the ticket system/mailing list. It may not be a bug, because i only tested twice, but i'll describe you the situation. i synchronized all contacts from evo2 to irmc (s55). everything went fine. i started another sync a few seconds later and opensync wasn't able to detect, that there were no changes. so it updated all the contacts again, without need. Is this a known problem? if not, i'm willing to dore more testing and open a report in opensync's ticketsystem. best regards, flo > -- > Eduardo -- Florian Preinstorfer < Flo...@gm... > Echte DSL-Flatrate dauerhaft für 0,- Euro*. I am using the latest Jahn packages on debian testing/unstable. I have a group with kdepim, and file sync (onto a sshfs file system, but I don't think this should matter). I am syncing address and calendar info, but neither application is running. I am using msynctool to drive things. If I slow sync (e.g. by interupting and restarting), it hangs after sending many changes to member 1, and before the message 'Member 1 of type file-sync committed all changes.' If I delete .opensync/group1/lock and resync, it works. At the moment, I feel like there is not enough information to submit a useful ticket. Any suggestions? d |

It's been a while since I've looked at Opensync. Last time I tried it, there was a problem with the syncML and evolution combination with my Nokia 6620. Apparently, if I'm recalling correctly, it was a problem in the Opensync code itself. What is the status of this now? Would like to know if there are sufficient changes that I should try it again. Thanks Norm |

Hi all, Yesterday, I managed to get some information from the P900 in my PC. First of all, my P900 was configured to synchronize calendar, contacts and notes. To support this multi-database sync, msynctool must be started with the --multi option. I forgot this before... I then tried one database at a time. For the purpose of the test, I use syncml-http-server to file-sync. (Don't want to loose my evolution files :-) ) Sync'ing the contacts seems to work. It should be noted that none of my P900 contacts have a picture associated with them. Sync'ing the agenda is another story. Of course, my agenda on the P900 contains all the elements I imported from my previous PDA (Palm). There are a lot of entries (although I always use(d) the PDA quite moderately). After the init phase, the P900 sent all its agenda entries. The PC started replying but the communication has stopped in the middle of a Status command for an unknown reason. At TCP level, the P900 has ACK'd those packets. I tried limiting the amount of data exchanged per batch by setting recvLimit to 48000 but it did not have any good or bad effect. Sync'ing notes fails after the init phase. Best regards, Olivier |

I'm using the new sunbird plugin, and it works fine as long as the webdav server is set to accept http, but if the server changes to use https, it will not connect. It is supposed to support https:? Thanks Jim |

Hi Again, Am Montag, 31. Is there any way to configure this, so that I get a really complete CSV export, which I can use for my filtering? Hi, is there any possibility to restrict the sync from KDEPIM to the mobile phone to: a) contacts which have at least ONE phone number (mobile, normal, ...) b) events in calendar which are not in the past (or not older than xy days) Possible Optimization: a) would allow me to avoid filling my complete mobile phone book with entries that are only of interest for KDEPIM to send emails. b) woud reduce the amount of checked calendar data --> also reduce amount of conflicted events (see my other email). The mysnctool (before openync) had an irm-sync option to filter event by their age. ## I performed some edits in my KDEPIM address book, hit SAVE and sometimes even closed kontact, cleared my mobile phone address book BEFORE I performed a opensync sync session. But I had the impression, that some contact entries in the mobile phone were created, which I removed BEFORE SAVE in kontact. --> I have the impression, that kdepim-sync takes some sort of cached data, which had not yet been updated Is this a known problem? Or should I perform some more detailed experiments? In case of already known -> is there a workaround other then logout->login cycle? ((I removed several entries of telephone numbers without any name from kontact/addressbook hit SAVE and then synced --> but some entries in phone are still numbers without name -> something went wrong ==> my K750i reached the limit of 500 entries so that some other contact data werent written to K750i data)) ## My KDE addressbook is currently distributed to several resources. I'd like to reorganize them to: + entries with at least names, numbers in resource A + entries with at least names, email in resource B + all the rest in resource C I found no entry to configure the storage position for a single entry. Should I export my address book to some sort of CSV which I can then sort and reorganize with some external tool? Hi, all Form http://libsyncml.opensync.org/, I get to know that one of the goal of libsyncml is "Implement the Data Synchronization part. Optionally the Device Management part later" and support "SyncML 1.0/1/2". I searched the Opensync-users mailing list but didn't find any information. May I ask whether the latest libsyncml release support Device Management V1.2? Whether can i find more information about the support of Device Management? Thanks in Advance! Hi, I've been trying to my Nokia E70 to sync using syncml-http-server. Each add command looks like this: <Add><CmdID>7</CmdID>
<LocURI>1</LocURI><Type xmlns="syncml:metinf">text/x-vcard</Type><Version xmlns="syncml:metinf">2.1</ Version><Data>BEGIN:VCARD 0d 0a VERSION:2.1 0d 0a REV:20060608T000620Z 0d 0a N:Dodge;Tim;;; 0d 0a TEL;CELL:+447XXXXXXXXX 0d 0a TEL;V OICE:+441XXXXXXXXX 0d 0a EMAIL;INTERNET:us...@do...d 0d 0a END:VCARD 0d 0a </Data>
</Add> Initially I was getting "wrong initial Node: Type" errors, but the hack in the attached patch got me a bit further, but now I'm getting: timmy@kingmob ~ $ msynctool --sync filehttp --wait Synchronizing group "filehttp" The previous synchronization was unclean. Slow-syncing received contact dsession received event dsession Member 1 of type file-sync just connected received note dsession Member 2 of type syncml-http-server just connected All clients connected or error Member 1 of type file-sync just sent all changes Received an reply to our Alert Received an reply to our Alert Received an reply to our Alert Going to receive 82 changes Member 2 of type syncml-http-server had an error while getting changes: Broken Pipe Member 1 of type file-sync just disconnected Member 2 of type syncml-http-server had an error while disconnecting: Broken Pipe All clients have disconnected The sync failed: Unable to read from one of the members There are no errors in the syncml traces, just the ones in the osync traces (attached). Any help would be appreciated. Tim |

Hi all Just got some time to try syncing with my 6680 again - built latest from source, and getting an error from syncml-obex-client about "wrong initial node: NumberOfChanged". I noticed in the wiki there's a note about applying a patch to wbxml2, called 'misc/wbxml2-0.9.0.patch'. When I went to download the source (from the link in the wiki), I noticed that the latest version is 0.9.2. Do we still need to apply the patch? Cheers, KEv. |
