Just wanted to give you a heads up that there's a good chance we'll be attempting a Java port of OpenSteer for the jMonkeyEngine project:

We were considering just creating bindings for it, but since the library is no longer being actively developed we decided we might as well do a complete port so that we can easily continue making improvements of our own.
