I have started tests with settings of 250 users at 15000 iterations on one machine (a 2GHz P4 with 512MB of RAM), but I got an error I mentioned in a previous e-mail. The test takes about 4 minutes to complete an iteration so I would expect this test to take in the neighborhood of 42 days to complete (you could always just restart this once a month). Obviously if your tests took longer you could expect it to take longer to complete (doesn't take into account for the server slowing down with that many users, network issues, etc, etc). You could run the script with no logging if you want (see the VUs column options), I don't know if errors would be reported in that instance. All in all I would have to say, conditionally "yes". Make a long script and start it with lots of iterations then every month or so restart it. What are you wanting to do? -----Original Message----- From: ope...@li... Is there any way to keep a constant load on a Web app using OpenSTA (like running a script for a very large number of iterations, or for a very long time)? What is the upper limit for the number of iterations the Commander can take? Could a script be run in a "continuous" mode, without collecting any data/generating test results?
