ANNOUNCE(OpenSTA): Release - 1.4.0 available

We are pleased to announce the initial release of the OpenSTA 1.4 series.
This release signifies the finalization of the 1.3 development series.
The 1.4 series will only get bug fix releases, as required. In time, a new
1.5 series will be created to contain further development.

This release is available both as a Microsoft Windows Installable from :

and as a full source package form:

The changes in this release (from 1.3.3) includes :

* Optimization of tof and scl files to improve HTTP replay.
* socket timeout managed by HTTP replay engine.
* temporary files in Engines/temp and Server/logs directories.
* Commander
	  - Ability to add a description for scripts and task groups.
	  - Replace Task group Trace Level (No/low/High) by Number of 
	    Virtual users for timer results and number of virtual users 
	    for HTTP results.
	  - Ability to duplicate a test.
	  - new counters in Monitoring/Summary and Test Summary Snapshots 
	    results.

* Modeler
	  - new gateway option 
	         . comments for cookies,
	         . page timers.
	  - Start/Stop timers during capture.
	  - Ability to address HTML/XML elements in any HTML/XML document 
	    (Tools/Navigate To... menu).
  
* SCL
	  - Load timer into timer,
	  - RETURNING STATUS option on CONNECT and LOAD RESPONSE 
	    statements,
	  - RETURNING BODYSIZE on GET/POST statements,
	  - WITH RETRY option on GET/POST/HEAD/CONNECT statements,
	  - ON ERROR managed by GET/POST/HEAD/CONNECT/LOAD RESPONSE 
	    statements,
	  - new string functions : 
	         . ~length,
	         . ~ltrim,
	         . ~rtrim,
	         . ~rightstr,
	         . ~leftstr.

* NTPerf 
	  - bugs fixed (did not work properly on non-english systems),
	  - improve NTPerf monitoring engine (one single thread 
	    for all counters).
