If I edit a song in Song Mode and save it, it saves then immediately ungrays the Save button. From then on whenever I try to even switch to a new song (without making changes) it prompts me to save. This behavior continues for every song, even ones I haven't made changes to. This behavior resets if I close then reopen the application.

I guess you are on Windows and the spell checker flags errors i.e. shows red wavy underlines.
This is a bug in the programming framework used. There is no known workaround for the current version, other than to disable the spell checker on a system wide basis (see #311 OpenSong asks to save unedited files).
In the current development version, the spellchecker is disabled. Although the bug, which flags the text as changed, when the visual appearence (the red underline) changes, may be fixed in the framework by now, there is still no way of defining the language for the spell checker, or disabling it for anything not matching the system's default language.

Ah, I see. That does make sense. The issue doesn't happen on songs that do
not have the red wavy underlines (which are few considering how many Em's
are in most of my songs). I'll just revert back to 2.2.7 for now. Thanks!
