Well, that error is thrown when OpenSong tries to open the file Globals in the
OpenSong Settings folder. First thing to do is make sure that file exists. If
it doesn't, copy it from the DMG file that you used to install OpenSong (all
the folders with OpenSong on the DMG need to be copied to the same place you
copied OpenSong, which looks like it was the Applications folder).
OpenSong needs to have its support files relocated to better support Apple's
changes for security in Lion and Mountain Lion. I haven't had a chance to work
on this yet, but verifying functionality under Mountain Lion is my next task.

Just wanted to confirm that I'm experiencing this issue too, also running
mountain lion. Hope a new release will come out sometime to add compatibility!

Okay nevermind! This issue isn't about the OS. For some reason the 1.7r3 dmg
is missing the support folders which need to be copied into applications. The
error message is resolved by downloading the earlier 1.7 release!

Yesterday I installed Mountain Lion 10.8 and I get this error:
"The FolderItem object is Nil in XDocFromFile: MacintoshHD:

any ideas?

I have the same problem as well. Where did you download the earlier 1.7
version?
Here you go~
