upnp, the microsoft protocol, is supported by another
bsd licensed project on sourceforge, http://upnp.sourceforge.net/ . its in freebsd ports, so
its probably able to be inserted into the openbsd
kernel.
had a look at http://sourceforge.net/projects/linux-igd, a
client that uses the upnp library. technical issues seem
pretty easy to solve, basically follow the freebsd lead
here. security issues ... well, upnp sucks. we'll deal.
maybe make it a package to install later for people.

code looks easy enough to modify to work with pf. security
is another issue ... probably add this as a package to the
system and not enable it by default.
